No more pain!

The last two days have truly tested my tolerance to pain. Tuesday morning I started to feel something in the right-back side of my mouth. There was a small pain on my molar (#31) that grew throughout the day. At the end of the workday, I could not take it so I went to the dentist. They examined me and found that a cavity existed under a current filling. I was like FML. A root canal needed to be done but she couldn't do it and had to refer me to a endodontist. That night, I almost called the hospital. The pain was radiating throughout the right side of my face and the meds that were prescribed to me didn't do much. I didn't get to sleep until 5:30am that night. When I woke up (3 hours later), the pain kind of went away but was still there obviously. I called my the dentist I was referred to and they were able to schedule me to come in the next day (today). As time passed, it was off and on. Luckily I was able to eat. It was probably the meds finally kicking in. I did make the mistake though of taking the medicine without eating. I wanted to spew. That night I was able to sleep but today, or this morning, was all bad.

Weekend in 209

Another week of work is in progress. I hope it won't be as boring as past weeks. I try to find something to do but sometimes it's difficult to endure. Anyway, last weekend was so chill. I guess that is one of the few things I like about going back home to Stockton. I get to be lazy but I get to be lazy with my family. My sister celebrated her 22nd birthday on Saturday. A decent amount of people showed up. It just sucks that she has to throw her own parties and even make her own cake! But no matter, she had a good time with good company. Our dog, Oogie, seemed to like the attention, too. Naturally, my sister got hammered. Hell, it wouldn't be a proper birthday if she didn't! The following morning she was hungover and I think Oogie was, too! All I know is that she slept a full 8 hours without waking up like she normally does.

Back in the habit

Updating my blog has never been a priority for me and I'm not sure why. I used to do it all the time on Xanga and even met a few good people on it including someone from Hong Kong and someone with the same exact birthday as me (08/10/84). Things in my life have been interesting though so this should give me some more incentive to write.

Light at the end of the tunnel

Next Friday will be my last day at former Redback. I have to say I am going to miss that place very much. Most of the users were friendly and patient when need be. The executives were pretty nice, too. There's one who always offers me a beer. =) But he always runs out, bwahah. But yeah, on that note, I got a call from Johnny T, my good friend who got me into Taos. He just got promoted to a Desktop tech and so I might be able to fulfill his spot. It'll be in Tier 1 but who cares, it's a job and $$$! I might even be able to manage a raise. Only time will tell.

District 9 amongst other things

I just looooove lazy Sundays! For being lazy, though, I got a decent amount of stuff done. One thing is particular was getting to see District 9. If you didn't get the chance to see it this weekend then you better get off your ass and see it this week/end! I wasn't aware of the hype or anything. What made me want to see it was that IGN gave it 5 stars. That is very rare. All I can say was that I was very very impressed with it. To me, the movie was a social commentary on racism and discrimination. It tugs at every emotion and you really feel for the aliens.

Time for a Change

Time to start writing in this again. Just recently I turned 25 years old. Most people including myself joke around and call it a quarter-life crisis. I agreed to it at first based on all the thoughts that roamed my head. As I thought to myself more and more, I realized that one phase of my life is over. What have I had to show for it? I did what the system told me to do. Go to school and get a decent paying job. I'm working my way up but something still feels amiss. As most of you may or may not know, I have never been in a relationship before. I can give you tons of reasons why.

Interesting 12 hours

Last night at around 11:30pm the electricity went out. What's funny is that we are kind of used to this happening since our breakers are kind of weak but EVERYTHING was out so we knew something was wrong. The whole block lost electricity. About 5 minutes later we heard sirens. Apparently a propane tank caught on fire but I'm not sure if this was just a coincidence or not. It would be strange that only our block would have been affected considering the fire was pretty far from where we were. The service was restored this morning as I was leaving for work.

SimplyJoe.Net: It's back!

Damn, it has been WAY too long since I've really done anything to this site which is why I've started blogging again. A lot has happened over the past year. I graduated from SJSU with honors, got a job at Taos Mountain Inc. and am currently assigned to Ericsson Inc. working as a Helpdesk admin, and I got a small website gig. Life has been pretty good.

Anyway, I'm going to attempt to write in this thing more often, so keep a lookout!
